Description
Eucalyptus is a very beautiful tree of 30 to 35 meters, with a straight, smooth, greyish trunk, which also carries upright branches. The young twigs bear opposite, sessile, oval leaves; the older twigs alternate leaves, petiolate, narrow, elongated, pointed, with two similar faces. The flowers, visible in spring, are born in the axils of the leaves, the calyx has the shape of a bumpy top, the wide part of which is covered by an operculum which comes off at the time of flowering, revealing numerous stamens. The fruit is the angular capsule of the calyx, it contains two types of seeds.
